Cecilia Turner (on the right in the photo) is an American cross stitch designer and founder of the brand Heart in Hand Needleart, launched in 1994.

She discovered embroidery in childhood, introduced to it by her grandmother, and went on to develop a true passion for the craft, deepening her skills as an adult. Her career as a designer began after several publications in specialist magazines, followed by the creation of her own brand off the back of the success of her first designs.

Her style is characterised by:
• designs that are both traditional and modern
• strong inspiration drawn from nature and the seasons
• compositions that are often gentle, joyful and accessible

She places great importance on the emotional dimension of embroidery, which she regards as a soothing activity that creates connections between embroiderers. Her creations range from small, quick projects to more elaborate designs — often conceived to be enjoyable to stitch and easy to incorporate into home décor.
